Our Nursery is situated on the lower ground floor of Beresford House. This floor provides two rooms for our babies and two adjoining rooms for our toddlers.
A great effort has been made to make the nursery as warm and as homely as possible. Our rooms are safe, comfortable, stimulating and have a lovely atmosphere for our youngest babies and children. Our highly qualified staff are caring, nurturing and have a wealth of experience. They are warm and affectionate and no baby or child is ever left to cry unnecessarily.
Our staff to child ratio is 1:3 although extra help is on hand when necessary e.g. feeding and changing times.
Music is played in all rooms and our Nursery Nurses constantly talk, sing and play with the babies and children. A variety of sensory and discovery resources e.g. treasure baskets, heuristic play etc. have been carefully chosen and provided to encourage all areas of development, allowing our babies and children to progress and learn at their own pace. Our babies also enjoy access to water, sand and a range of art materials. They are carefully overseen by our vigilant staff. All toys and resources are safe, brightly coloured and appealing to encourage and develop the children’s senses. Staff make every effort to work with parents, ensuring their baby or child is happy and secure and that routines from home are supported as much as possible.
